According to the accumulated data of major land ports, in the first half of the year, there were more than 9,100 trains cross border, but the specific data is subject to the follow-up release of the National Development and Reform Commission and other relevant departments. The Horgos Port, which has been expanded and transformed at the end of last year, has become the port with the largest number of passing trains among the railway ports in the country, and 18 trains of China-Europe trains can pass through each day. Manzhouli port, the country's largest continental port connecting Russia, is currently undergoing capacity expansion and reconstruction.

Alashankou Port

From January to June in 2021, there were 3,033 China-Europe trains entering and leaving Alashankou port, with a freight volume of 2.2807 million tons,  year-on-year increase of 41.07% and 56.08% respectively, both hitting new record.

It is worth noting that the steady growth of return cargo sources from Central Asia and Europe has provided new impetus for the growth of inbound China-Europe freight trains. The main commodities are automobiles, timber, minerals etc., surprisingly notebook computers, auto parts and other high-value goods also increased significantly. At present, the main train lines passing Alashankou Port are Yuxinou, Zhengxinou, Changan, Rongxinou, etc., which can reach 13 countries including Germany, Poland, Belgium, Russia, and carry more than 200 kinds of goods.


Horgos Port

From January to June, Horgos Port had a total of 3,057 entry-exit China-Europe freight trains, with a freight volume of 4.287 million tons, year-on-year increasing of 52.5% and 66.8% respectively, making it the port with the largest number of passing trains among the national railway ports.

In June this year, Horgos railway port entered and exited 563 China-Europe trains in this month, including 150 inbound trains. Since the beginning of this year, 7 China-Europe train lines, including WuyishanAlmaty, HorgosMoscow, and TurpanRussia, have been newly opened from the Horgos railway port, and the number of train lines passing through the port has reached 28.


At present, the trains leaving the Horgos port mainly carry 15 categories of goods such as machinery and equipment, daily necessities, electronic products, textile products, etc. The inbound goods are mainly auto parts, household appliances, textile raw materials, food. etc. Import-export goods show some new trends. In terms of exports, high value-added products such as vehicle accessories and electronic components have increased, and the utilization of return trains has improved.

 

In order to adapt to the increase of the number of China-Europe trains, the Horgos Railway Station has further released its transportation potential, and completed the capacity expansion and renovation project at the end of last year. It can undertake container landing, lifting and assembling operations of 5-6 trains per day. A pair of new cargo reloading lines have been added in the station, and 10 new and extended lines have been added.

 

At present, the operational time of the entire train at the Horgos Railway Port has been reduced from 3.5 hours last year to 1 hour now. At present, there are about 18 China-Europe trains passing through the port every day, and the maximum number can reach 21.


Manzhouli Port

According to the statistics of Manzhouli Customs, from January to June, there were 1,610 China-Europe freight trains entering and leaving China through Manzhouli port, the most mainland port in China, an increase of 20.51% year-on-year (the same below), carrying 129,500 standard containers, an increase of 12.52%. The main commodities are wood, textile, grain, mineral sand, fertilizer, etc., with a total value of about RMB 15.965 billion.

 It is understood that there are currently 53 China-Europe trains entering and leaving the country through the Manzhouli railway port, reaching 13 European countries. The main collection places include the southeastern coastal areas of China, covering 60 cities such as Tianjin, Changsha, Guangzhou and Suzhou,etc. The categories of transported goods are also gradually enriched, and export goods have expanded to categories such as daily necessities, electrical products, industrial machinery, metals, agricultural and sideline products, and the added value of transport has increased significantly. Imported goods include auto parts, plates and food, etc., and the round-trip container with goods rate of the trains has reached 100%.

 

It is reported that ,the civil construction project of the expansion and reconstruction, project of the international freight yard of Manzhouli Station is in progress . Construction projects such as crane running foundation, fire pipeline laying, ground hardening in the main box area, road laying around the field and line infrastructure are expected to be completed by the end of the year.


Erenhot Port

According to the statistics of Erlian Customs, in the first half of this year, there were 1,241 inbound and outbound China-Europe freight trains, 128,800 TEUs, 1.09 million tons of goods, and these worth 2.612 billion US dollars, an increase of 28.07% , 32.89%  4.92%, 59.57% year-on-year respectively. 5 new lines were added, and the total number of operating lines reached 50, hitting new high.

Erenhot is located in the north of China, across the border of Zamyn Uud, Mongolia. As a port city, Erenhot is  only railway port from China to Mongolia; as an important hub of the Eurasian Road and Bridge, Erenhot is one of the first 13 open border cities approved by the State Council of China.


Suifenhe Port

From January to June, the China-Europe trains entering and leaving the Suifenhe railway port continued to run at a high level. There were 214 China-Europe trains entering and leaving the country through the railway port, an increase of 167.5% compared with 80 trains entering and leaving the country in the same period last year.

 Since the beginning of this year, the total volume of foreign trade import and export goods has increased significantly. Affected by the epidemic, the global supply chain is tense, and the China-Europe freight train has become an effective carrier to ensure the rapid circulate flow of import and export goods. As an important node of the "Belt and Road", the Suifenhe Railway Port has seen a particularly significant increase in inbound and outbound China-Europe trains. In June, the number of China-Europe trains entering and leaving China reached 59, an increase of 47.5% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 247%.

 

It is understood that the China-Europe trains leaving from the Suifenhe railway port, carrying goods such as electromechanical equipment, household appliances, auto parts, etc., pass through Russia and reach Poland, Germany, Belgium and other countries. The inbound China-Europe freight trains include wood plates, grains, candies, alcohol, etc. which produced in the Russian Far East, which are mainly sent to Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Nanchang and other places.
